From left to right: Grim, Orny, and Carlo. This was taken at our first stop after arriving in Denver: the
Colorado State House. On the steps under Orny's knee is the original mile-high marker which a Colorado
State University student discovered had been set three steps too low. A simple surveyor's plug behind Orny's back marks the
real mile-high point.
We had lots of fun ransacking the State House. We taunted tourists, we posed in porticos, we ran into offices
at random, we explored the parapet around the dome, and we met the only living witness to the signing of the
Declaration of Independence: TREES!
Unfortunately, we had to flee the State House before we got kicked out, because we wanted to make the
last tour of the Denver Mint. But that's another story...
