2000 Dargon Writers' Summit Photos

The Dargon Project isn't one or two people's creation, and that too was evident in our working sessions. In addition to the topics and activities planned by Jon Evans as Summit leader, several other writers took their turns speaking on topics which they "own".

Mark Murray, the Summit host, also spoke about the state of DargonZine's successful program for supporting and mentoring new writers. Carlo Samson gave a presentation of the work-in-progress on a major revision to the Dargon town map, and also led the group through a play-testing session of a Dargon card game he had developed. Ornoth Liscomb led a review of the project's goals for the year and discussed the upcoming Web site redesign.

Every Dargon Project writer is expected to develop a sense of ownership in the magazine. Everyone is involved in decisionmaking, including our newest recruits. In this photo, Carlo Samson looks on as Dargon writers from several generations work on one of our discussion topics. From right to left, Dafydd joined the project back in 1986, Rhonda Gomez joined in 1998, and P. Atchley, a new writer who hadn't been published at the time of the Summit, joined earlier in 2000.
