2000 Dargon Writers' Summit Photos

After indulging our appreciation of pop culture at the Warhol Museum, we decided to experience contemporary American culture by visiting Eracers, an entertainment complex north of Pittsburgh. Our group got a great "all you can ride for an hour" deal, and we immediately hit one of their two go-kart tracks.

It was immediately apparent that these were the best karts we'd had in any of our Summit outings, and the competition on the track was fierce, as you can see! In this picture, Jon Evans (yellow kart) is overtaking Carlo Samson's blue kart on the outside, just as they enter a sweeping left turn. The grimaces on their faces illustrate the intensity of the human drama that unfolded in our on-track competition.
