Just to the west of the castle are the ruins of a chapel which was built around 1300 and extended to include a burial aisle for the Campbell clan in 1740. With visits to five different castles, the Dargon writers gained a great deal of insight into the diversity of construction and layout of medieval fortresses and living spaces. And, of course, these visits renewed the enthusiasm of our writers, who are no more immune to the lure of wonder than any fantasy reader. In this picture, Rhonda Gomez enjoys the warm sunshine while standing on the castle's parapet, looking out over Dunbeg harbour, which sits in the lee of the castle's promontory. | |
