Our plan for Friday evening was to try to make some progress on the next big event that is going to take place in Dargon, and determine who would write which parts. We made good progress on fleshing out the first half of that story arc, but progress was inhibited by the presence of Liam's pool table. The real benefit of the Summit is in getting our writers to sit down and talk to one another, and games like billiards are good because they keep people entertained while allowing them to talk shop. In the past, we've often played creative games like Icehouse, which are usually introduced to the group by our resident game expert, Dafydd. In this photo, Jon, Rena, and Liam are engrossed in an intense game of a perennial Summit favorite: Settlers of Catan. This year Dafydd introduced us to "You've Been Sentenced", an educational word game; however, it was the half-dozen rounds of Settlers that kept us up until the thin hours of each night, ensuring the customary Summit sleep deprivation experience. | |
