2007 Dargon Writers' Summit Photo

This shot also features Liam and Ornoth in a typical Summit activity: waiting for people to get organized.

In all the Summits we've had, I don't think we've ever talked about how we get from place to place. Since we usually have around a dozen attendees, the Summit host often rents a large van like this one, since the person who hosts usually doesn't incur the expense of airfare.

With all the physical activity, thought, and sleep deprivation that takes place at our gatherings, napping is common during long van rides. This year, our naps were interrupted when our brakes heated up on the desccent from Mount Charleston, causing the van to vibrate until Dafydd put us into low gear.

Still, since a different person pilots the van each year, it's might be just a matter of time before someone runs us aground. However, Daf did a very creditable job navigating the inland waterways of Nevada.
