The most interesting working session actually began before the Summit, when Dafydd challenged the authors to come up with a first draft that depicted certain key locations in Dargon. The challenge generated seven new short stories, which -- when published -- will reintroduce our readers to the most important characters and locations in Dargon. But beyond that, all of the stories take place on the same day, which provided us with numerous opportunities for collaboration and interaction between our storylines. In effect, we wound up with a miniature story arc, something of a day in the life of Dargon, which we're hoping to bring to you later in 2007. Most Summits include blocks of time which are devoted to actually writing Dargon stories, and this photo shows Rena Deutsch as she enjoys working on her "Summit challenge" story. | |
