1997 Dargon Writers' Summit Photos

As both Sunday afternoon and the Summit drew to a close, we found ourselves in the World War I Memorial, a very quiet, isolated part of the Mall.

Seating ourselves at the points of a star inlaid into the floor, we played at summoning the earth spirits. Within seconds, a sparrow landed within three feet of us, and a squirrel came up to us and asked us for spare change! Here Jon Evans gets a picture of the squirrel just before he (Jon) was assaulted.

This freaked us out enough to head back to the hotel, where we split up, heading back to our respective home towns the next morning.
